Awful Experience! June 30th was supposed to be a surprise for my birthday however when we got to the resort, it was no one there to check us in. The office hours were scheduled to close at 10pm. We got there at 9pm and it was totally darkness. There was no one around and the place looked deserted. After calling Westgate's corporate office and speaking to them all of 45 min. a guy pulled up, who we thought was security, got a key and went inside and brought us a key out to one of the villas. No formal check in. No manager contacted us and we had to stay in a villa until the next morning when someone came to work.
I got this room through expedia for a reduced rate. It was well worth it and i would've been fine paying more. The staff was excellent and very helpful. I would've given 5 stars if the rooms were more secure. They had the old school dead bolts without the inside chain.
The next morning upon check out, we asked for manager Gloria McKnight who still was not in office. When the staff finally contacted her, she was very unconcerned about our experience. No apology for our inconvenience. She couldn't talk to me nor would she address my concerns. She hurried me off the phone by saying she would take care of this by Monday July 3rd. As of July 6th, it's still not resolved. When Expedia tried to contact her on July 3rd & 5th, they were told she wasn't available. I have stayed at several Westgate Resorts in other areas and this was the WORST experience EVER. Please talk with your staff about Customer Service.
The rooms were excellent and very large. It had a very homey feel. I enjoyed having a large couch to lounge on while i was watching TV. It was furnished with every appliance needed including a washer and dryer.
The room was NASTY! NOT CLEAN AT ALL! Furniture STAINED! OUTDATED TELEVISIONS with SNOWY PICTURES! No CABLE! I was DEEPLY DISAPPOINTED!!!
Room was clean and more updated then their pictures online. Only problems I had was whenever I turned the light/fan on in the bathroom i would get the smell of cigarettes through the vent from the neighbors who must have been smoking in their room. Also when I checked out there seemed to be no one in site so I just left my key on the counter with the other keys that had been left. There was one broken cabinet in the bathroom but that wasn't too much of an issue.
Logistically, this place is solid. It is very close to all of the good casinos. I would absolutely stay here again.
All i can say is do not stay here just run the other way i dont even know how this place can be labeled westgate resorts they should be ashamed place needs to be closed down my whole family got sinus infection from the room which had some severe mold issues and other weird smells going on doors were falling off hinges no dvd player tv that go no channels no Wi-Fi no portable cribs even know they said they had them they did not had to go buy pack and play at walmart place is so run down should just be closed down
