Sam's Town is a nice casino resort in Tunica. Gaming rooms are well equipped based on my limited experience, rooms are nice and service courteous. While moderately expensive, the casino rewards repeat guests quite well with dining vouchers, discounted rooms, etc.
Booked room 3-4 weeks ago. When arrived clerk asked I.d. and charge card, no hello r welcome. Went to room and back down to casino, later that evening realized our room back up to elevator. Called front desk, said they would call back. No call back. Went down Thursday to inform them of the situation and clerk said she would talk to manager, she left to go to another room, nothing could be done now since we were just bringing it to their attention. When booking room ask for layout of building, room 5016 should be even on the rooms to be reversed. Used a credit card to pay for room, some kind of refund should credited back to us or the staff should stay in the room and then they will realize the problem. Thank you. Dawn Waelder.
Upon entering Sam's Town, you can feel the "classic casino" vibe. The decor feels outdated, which makes it rather inviting. The dealers at the tables and general staff are all friendly and willing to answer any questions you may have. The food at the restaurants is fairly high in price for out costs, but plan on using your player rewards card to have some of the cost comped. Even with the higher price, all the food was pretty good. Granted, it's no high-quality cuisine, but it is definitely tasty and will fill you up. The hallways of the floor we stayed on seemed to constantly smell like oatmeal. I have no idea why a hallway would smell like oatmeal, but it did. And the carpet in our room was seemingly sticky in some areas, so walking around barefoot was rather uncomfortable. Also, carpet throughout the hotel (even on higher floors) seemed to be warped and wrinkled, like it had gotten wet or something. Overall, Sam's Town is an enjoyable place for a local weekend casino getaway. Unfortunately, it would not be my first choice, but if the circumstances are right, I'd stay here again.
Okay stay. Was able to play awhile on the nickel machine. They only have 2 Craps tables and 2 or 3 black jack tables. Much smaller than my husband and I expected. We signed up for rewards cards and was able to earn enough points to get breakfast free the next morning. The rooms themselves were clean but reaked of an awful odor! The beds were with fresh linen and comfy. Bathroom was clean and the floor was a little dingy. Staff was friendly.
Good hotel. No frills but inexpensive. Casino is fun and lively. Blackjack dealer was awesome! No restaurant except Thurs-Sat so had to go elsewhere but no big deal. Right across from the Hollywood.
